Charles Ponzi: National Scam Prevention Day

Ponzi scams

National Scam Prevention Day is celebrated on March 3, the birthday of Charles Ponzi

National Scam Prevention Day is held on March 3, the birth date of Charles Ponzi, who is the father of Ponzi (or pyramid) scheme.  That's because Ponzi schemes are the basis of so many of today's scams.

The goal of National Scam Prevention Day is to increase awareness so consumers can better protect themselves against scams -- including Ponzi schemes.

The next National Scam Prevention Day will be held on March 3, 2005.

Details about planned events will be posted here. Stay tuned!
